Wedding FAQs

Can I bring a guest / plus one?
Yes! Please let us know in advance so we can plan numbers.

What will the weather be like?
Expect warm, sunny days around 25–30°C. Evenings by the river may be cooler, so a light jacket or wrap is recommended.

Where should I stay?
There are lovely accommodation options in Stanford and Hermanus, ranging from boutique hotels to Airbnbs. We’ll share our recommendations closer to the date.

How do I get to the venue?
Rivergate Guest Farm is about a two-hour drive from Cape Town International Airport (CPT). Directions will be provided, and we will also arrange shuttle services for key events.

Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, there is parking available for guests.

What activities are planned outside of the wedding day?

Do I need to bring anything special?
Nothing at all, just your lovely selves!

Will there be food options for dietary requirements?
Yes! Please let Louisa know as soon as possible if you have any dietary requirements.

What should I wear?
Please dress for a summer wedding, with temperatures likely between 25–30°C. Rivergate Guest Farm is a working farm, so while most areas are suitable for heels, we wouldn’t recommend very high stilettos. If you have any wardrobe questions, contact Louisa.

What plug adaptor do i need for outlets in South Africa?
South Africa mainly uses Type M sockets (three large round pins), and sometimes Type C and Type N in some newer places. UK plugs are Type G, so they won’t fit into South African sockets without an adapter. Here are a few Amazon links for UK to South Africa Plug Adaptors.
