We’ve planned a few relaxed, optional events in the days leading up to the wedding for anyone who’s around and would like to join. We’ve covered the transport and excursions for these activities, so you can simply turn up and enjoy.

Please note that any food, drinks, and wine-tasting fees are not included and will be for your own account on the day. Full details and timings for each event are outlined below.

Dinner & Drinks in Hermanus

If you’re around on Tuesday evening, we will be having Dinner and evening drinks at Burgundy Seafront Restaurant, 7 Harbour Road, Hermanus, 7200 at 7.30 pm.

25 February 2026

Joint Hen/Stag Do – Departs 11am
Meeting point: Stall 18, Village Market Stall, Market Square St, Hermanus

Wine Hopper Safari, Hemel-en-Aarde Valley

We have hired 2 jeep safaris for the day which will depart at 10am from the car park near the Whale museum in central Hermanus for a full day of exploring the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley together.

We’ve covered the cost of the safari vehicles for the day. Please note that wine tasting fees, food, and drinks are not included and will be for your own account.

27 February 2026

Coach Transfer to Rivergate Guest Farm – 1.30 pm

We have hired a coach to take the guests staying at Rivergate Guest Farm from Hermanus to Rivergate.  The coach will depart at 1.30 pm, location TBC but most likely the same car park as the wine safari.  Details will be confirmed in due course. Rivergate Guest Farm Check in – 2 pm.

African Queen River Cruise departs at 4pm from the Rivergate Guest Farm.

The African Queen boat will depart from Rivergate Guest Farm at 4pm and the cruise will last approximately 1 hour.  After the cruise, we will have a relaxed traditional Braai hosted by the farm for all guests from 6.30pm

Then we celebrate.
12.00 am farewell (Unless staying at the farm for the after party!)

There is parking available for those attending for the day or staying at other accommodation close by.

TUESDAY 24TH FEBRUARY
Guests arriving on shuttle from Cape Town, late afternoon, time TBC (or your own travel arrangements).
EVENING: Dinner, evening drinks to be arranged somewhere in Hermanus, TBC!

WEDNESDAY 25TH FEBRUARY
11 am – Wine Safari.
Meeting point: Stall 18, Village Market Stall, Market Square St, Hermanus. Click here for more details.
6/7 pm – Wine Safari ends back in Hermanus.

THURSDAY 26TH FEBRUARY
FREE DAY – Explore Hermanus at your leisure.

FRIDAY 27TH FEBRUARY
1.30 pm – Transport from Hermanus town centre at to Rivergate Guest Farm
2.00 pm – Guests check in at Rivergate Guest Farm
4.00 pm – African Queen River Cruise, departing from the dock at Rivergate Guest Farm (capacity 30 people).
6.30 pm – Braai at Rivergate Guest Farm for all.

Louisa will arrange taxis back to Hermanus for confirmed guests.
Those going onwards to arrange their own transport. There is a large number of guests returning to Cape Town so we recommend organising a group shuttle to share the cost.
